As property developers, we take the lead in developing cutting-edge real estate with a positive environmental impact. We do not just focus on the sustainable nature of the project but continuously work on an integrated sustainability policy with actions that impact the world inside and outside the Global Estate Group.

Future-proof
real estate

We aim to develop future-proof properties with maximum added value for the user and the environment and minimum ecological impact.

To evaluate our projects transparently and effectively, we are currently working on a tool to give each project a sustainability score in different domains. This will allow us to learn from the past and optimise projects with a view to the future.

Both during design and execution of a project, we work with different partners and we expect them to follow our vision and policy on sustainability. Through a sustainability charter, we impose a number of minimum conditions on our contractors regarding sustainability, ranging from material and energy consumption to waste and well-being on site.

To encourage biodiversity, we opt for a flower meadow instead of an ordinary lawn wherever possible.

If existing buildings are in good condition, we try to preserve them. If not, we recover as much of the raw materials as possible, for example by crushing the rubble and using it in the foundations of new buildings or roads.

We examine how to encourage sustainable mobility on our sites. We provide sufficient charging capacity for electric cars, ensure good infrastructure for cyclists and pay due attention to vulnerable road users.

INTEGRATED SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

We go beyond sustainable project development. Our integrated sustainability policy focuses on the world inside and outside the Global Estate Group. To achieve this, we signed the Voka Charter Sustainable Business and continuously take actions with a positive environmental impact.

This enables us to save as many natural resources as possible. We replace bottled water in the office with filtered tap water and encourage every employee to work paperless. Our office will also undergo a thorough energy scan in 2023 and we are exploring opportunities to boost biodiversity in the green surroundings of our office at Domein De Cellen.

“WITH AN INTEGRATED SUSTAINABILITY POLICY, WE FOCUS ON THE WORLD INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE GLOBAL ESTATE GROUP.”

AS ONE TEAM FOR A POSITIVE IMPACT

Our employees are crucial if we are to succeed in our sustainability goals. To establish long-term cooperation with each employee, we provide a healthy working environment with respect for each individual. We invest in ergonomic workstations, offer sports facilities and sporting events, motivate healthy eating habits with a fixed veggie day and local produce, etc.

As a socially committed company, we also want to make a positive impact on the people around us and regularly participate in solidarity campaigns.
